It would seem that Acura has adopted the trickle-down approach when it comes to their next-gen NSX.  For years now, we’ve known that the company would release a follow-up to the once very popular and admired NSX, and last year they finally unveiled what was effectively a shell of a car. And that was one hell of a shell, and one that has continued to impress from show to show.  Today, Acura divulged a few more details about their next-gen supercar, which included the official drivetrain as well as a look at the car’s interior.

According to Acura, the interior design concept language is founded on a “Human Support Cockpit,” which presumably means that all the controls will not only be reachable and intuitive, but shouldn’t distract the driver as they hurdle down the autobahn (or Japan’s mountainous and curvy roads).   Furthering that is outstanding visibility and a “Simple Sports Interface” that minimizes interior clutter.  Did I mention the entire interior is replete with carbon fiber inlays?

Powering the supercar is a mid-mounted, direct-injected V-6 engine mated to Acura’s Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system.  In addition to a three motor hybrid system that delivers torque vectoring all-wheel drive, the NSX will include 3 electric motors; two that power the front wheels and one that is mated to the V6.  Lastly, a dual-clutch transmission equates to ultra fast and smooth shifts and puts the NSX in the class it deserves; supercar.
